This model is inspired by the Instruments of Gabriel Lemböck (1814-1892), accurately copied to the finest details and tested against an original. Lemböck was a Hungarian born Viennese instrument maker famous for his accurate and impressive copies of Viennese double basses and fine Italian instruments. His instruments were praised for their fullness of tone coupled with responsiveness.

 

This model features gamba corners and a flat back, as well as custom authentic Viennese wooden pegs and fittings.

Upper bout:     49cm

Middle bout:    36cm

Lower bout:      65cm 

Body length:     114cm

String length:   110cm ( can be made with smaller 106cm)

Rib size:             21cm to 18cm at neck heel

 

This model is available in four or five string variations.
